DUAL CORE Vs CORE2DUO

Vs

Dual core processor is a general term for a CPU that has two independent processors on the same unit. The advantage of this is that each processor can handle different instructions at the same time from different tasks. The biggest advantage of this comes from when a user is multitasking multiple applications at the same time, or when a specific application is programmed to take advantage of both cores unlike the pentium 4.But dual core & core2duo processors are upgraded versions of P 4.Photoshop is one such application that can use multiple cores well. Applications that aren't programmed to take advantage of multiple cores do get a slight boost in performance, but nowhere nearly as much as one that is designed for multiple core processing

Core 2 Duo is Intel's brand of a dual core processor. AMD also makes dual core processor, as do other companies. Core 2 Duo is currently considered the performance/value leader for the mainsteam dual core market.

Core Duos are also dual core processor that are the first generation of Intel's core duo design. They can process 32 bit instructions (windows XP), but not 64bit instructions. Core 2 Duo is the 2nd generation of that specific processor line, and along with many other improvements, can also handle 64 bit instructions as well (most valuable with upcoming 64 bit versions of Windows Vista). Currently, there are not that many 64 bit applications out there, so this is not as important currently, but rather more of an example of 'futureproofing'.

Now, i will tell you the main difference between the dual core & the core2duo processor. See both the processor are built on P4 platform. In dual core processor the processor is only one but while processing it acts as if it has two cores. But in core2duo there are really two cores. Now, dual core acts as having 2 cores on paper but has only one core.Means it only works as if it has two cores, but in real has only one.In core2duo it has in real two cores & it works like that.

3G SERVICE LAUNCHED IN INDIA : AT LAST

With 3G, the next-gen mobile service launched in Delhi, your handset becomes an all-purpose device. Here´s what all you can do and what it offers.
Browse Internet and send, receive large emails including graphics. 3G also enables faster movie downloads.
• Make video calls and videoconference (possible on 3G to 3G calls).
• Get streaming TV on phone screen with pause, record features. MTNL´s IPTV network currently offers 4 channels, will expand to 10 channels in 10 days and 40 in 2-3 weeks.
• Remote access footage from CCTV (could also help police and in traffic management).
• Play interactive games on Net sites, access bank accounts and shop online.
• Get high-speed Web navigation, maps.
• 3G services give mobile users high-quality voice transmission and access to high-end data applications on their mobile phones.

2G vs 3G
3G represents the next step in the evolution of mobile telephony, offering markedly greater capacity and efficiency than the current 2G systems.
While 2G is focused on voice, 3G supports high-speed data of at least 144 kbps enabling broadband Internet access on the mobile, and "triple play" features like mobile TV and converged communication services.
Similarly, 3G will allow operators to enhance their capacities for voice traffic as well. Currently, key operators are facing severe 2G spectrum crunch in top 20-30 cities which is hampering their future growth. As the government has indicated that it has limited spectrum left for 2G services.
Also, while 3G is good for data services, it is also three times more efficient than current technologies in packing in subscribers.

Top speed
• 2G - 10kb/sec
• 3G - 2mb/sec

Time taken to download a 3-min MP3 song
• 2G - 31 to 40 minutes
• 3G - 11 secs to 1.5 min

How much will it cost?
MTNL will release tariff plan after a month. It´s only servicing corporate clients at the moment and will rely on their feedback before commercial launch.

INCREASE THE SPEED OF YOUR MENUS

Will decrease the delay in opening the menu, when u pause with your mouse on a menu.

• Open the registry editor
• Locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
• In the right pane find the value name MenuShowDelay
• The default value for MenuShowDelay is 400, set it to any value less than 400

For this tweak to take effect you may need to Logoff or Restart windows.
