Samsung is quite popular for poor software support of their Android smartphones. The company only committed to releasing the Android OS updates for the Galaxy S handsets, and never mentioned anything about other Galaxy branded handsets.
The company did release the Android 2.2 FroYo update for the Galaxy 3, but has kept mum on the Galaxy S L and the Galaxy Ace Android 2.3 Gingerbread update.

However, it looks like the Galaxy Ace will get the Gingerbread love from Samsung. The folks over at SamFirmware have managed to get their hands on a leaked Gingerbread firmware for the Ace.
Users who flashed this firmware on their handset did report some performance and stability issues. The leaked ROM has quite a few bugs as well. Other than this, the ROM features some updated items and the new goodies brought about by the Android OS update.
This leak does confirm that the Galaxy Ace will get the Gingerbread update from Samsung. Hopefully, Samsung will also release the Android 2.3 Gingerbread RM for the Galaxy S L. Nevertheless, it’s still nice to see Samsung releasing Android OS updates for a mid-range phone.

Novell today announced the availability of Mono for Android, the first solution for developing Microsoft .NET applications for Google's Android platform. This essentially allows .NET and C# developers to use their existing skills to easily create Android apps. Mono for Android consists of the core Mono runtime, bindings for native Android APIs, a Visual Studio 2010 plug-in, and an SDK that contains all the tools needed to build, debug, and deploy apps. Developers trained in Visual Studio can thus continue developing with their preferred IDE, while using their existing skills and .NET code, libraries, and tools, as well as C# programming knowledge. The Visual Studio 2010 plug-in lets engineers develop, debug, and deploy their apps to an Android simulator, an Android device, or the Android Market.
Mono for Android complements MonoTouch, Novell's solution for developing apps for Apple's iOS (iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch). Novell is thus pitching Mono for Android and MonoTouch to .NET developers as an option that will save them time and money because they will be able to share common code between iOS and Android on smartphones and tablets, as well as Windows Phone 7, Windows desktops, and Windows Server.

How to Jailbreak iPod 4G iOS 4.3.1 using RedSn0w on Windows Full Step By Step Tutorial by TECH2GET

We have already seen the tutorial of iPod 4.2.1 Jailbreak using GreenPois0n and here I share a tutorial on How to Jailbreak iPod 4G 4.3.1 iOS using RedSn0w tool on Windows.

Things needed :

1. iPod 4G 4.3.1 Firmware from Apple – iPod4,1_4.3.1_8G4_Restore.ipsw
2. Redsn0w tool for Windows

Place these downloaded file into one folder and extract redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc9.zip there itself.

This process includes upgrading firmware of iPod 4G from 4.2.1 to 4.3.1 using Restore option in iTunes. Then Jailbreaking it using Redsn0w for Windows.

Remember, Restoring will erase all data on iPod so make sure you sync Music and Apps from iPod using iTunes to your desktop.

Let’s begin with Firmware upgrade to iOS 4.3.1 using Restore.

Connect iPod to iTunes and on Summary tab, Press Shift button and click on Restore button. Browse to the folder and select iPod4_1_4.3.1_8G4_Restore.ipsw file. iTunes will now erase all data, verify integrity with Apple online and device will be restored to Factory settings.

 

 iPod will restart and you will have to sync with the backup already stored on desktop. You are now done with iPod 4G firmware upgrade to iOS 4.3.1

Here, we start with iPod 4G 4.3.1 Jailbreak using RedSn0w.

1. Connect iPod via USB and Power off the device.
2. Open redsn0w.exe using Run As Administrator if on Windows 7.

   3.Browse the same firmware file and press NEXT to prepare Jailbreak Data

   4. Select Jailbreak option by checking infront of specified Feature. Make sure Cydia is selected and click the Next button to continue.

   5.Enter Device into DFU mode following the instruction on window.
   6.Redsn0w will detect DFU mode and Jailbreak will start.

     7. Rest of the process will start on your device which will look something like this:

Video Screensaver is a free portable application that allows you to set favorite video clips as screensaver. It is easy to use with minimal settings from the user.

Google launches/introduces +1 to rival Facebook's Like button

Google has introduced the most significant social feature to its search service yet, adding a one-click button to allow users to recommend sites and share those recommendations with their friends.

Plus One will initially only be accessible to 2% of Google's English-language users in the US, but it will be seen as a rival to Facebook's increasingly ubiquitous 'Like' tool which appears on hundreds of thousands of third-party sites.
Appearing as a small icon next to each search result and text ad, logged-in users can share their recommendations with contacts through their Gmail address book, Google Reader and Buzz contacts and, eventually, Twitter contacts. Google would not comment on whether Facebook contacts could eventually be integrated.
Google is characterising Plus One as a different function to Facebook's Like, saying that recommendations are only shared within the context of relevant searches, rather than spamming all contacts. Social is widely seen as the next generation of web services, but Plus One will also begin to influence the ranking of sites within search results listings. Users will be able to choose for recommended sites to be more visible in search results.
Google is also planning to extend the service to news publishers so that they can integrate Plus One on story pages. Lets see what happens ! Google is trying hard to gets it brand status back from FB...
